What the Browser Fingerprint Analyzer's results do and do not mean. Last updated: July 2026.

Educational tool, not a security product

The Browser Fingerprint Analyzer demonstrates how browser fingerprinting techniques work by running them locally and explaining the output. It is an educational instrument. It does not certify, guarantee, or measure your privacy, anonymity, or security, and no result on this site should be read as such.

About the ratings

Each test's distinguishing-power rating (Higher, Moderate, Lower, Unavailable) is a qualitative assessment of how much that kind of signal can typically narrow down which browser produced it, with the reasoning shown alongside. Ratings are not statistics: this site maintains no database of fingerprints and therefore cannot and does not state uniqueness percentages, population estimates, or the probability that your fingerprint matches anyone else's.

Results reflect one moment on one system

A test result describes your browser, on your device, at the moment the test ran. Browser updates, driver updates, settings changes, and extensions can all change results. A signal that appears stable during one session may change tomorrow; a protection that randomizes output on this site's tests behaves the same on trackers' scripts only to the extent the implementations align.

No legal or professional advice

Content on this site, including discussion of privacy regulations, is general information, not legal advice. Fingerprinting-related law varies by jurisdiction and changes over time. For advice about a specific situation, consult a qualified professional.

Third-party software references

Articles mention browsers and privacy tools (such as Firefox, Brave, and Tor Browser) to explain defense approaches. These references describe publicly documented behavior at the time of writing, may become outdated as software changes, and are not endorsements or guarantees of any product's effectiveness.
